24. What precautions are you taking related to the Coronavirus outbreak?
We care deeply about the health and wellbeing of our students, instructors, staff, and community. Following the Maharashtra state government announcement that all schools and offices are closing in Pune from 14th March, and the subsequent Government of India announcement of a nation-wide lockdown upto April 15th, we have cancelled our face-to-face workshops and courses for March and April. We are shifting some of our upcoming workshops and courses to be hosted online, so look for those coming up. We have been closely monitoring developments surrounding the spread of COVID-19 to ensure that we are responding promptly and in line with the latest Government of India health and safety guidelines and recommendations. We are optimistic that the lockdown will be lifted up by mid-April. At present, we're hoping to re-open our training centres from mid-May, subject to Government of India orders and guidance. Once we open our facilities to the public, we will continue following all government health guidelines including (but not limited to) taking student temperatures, making masks accessible, regularly sanitizing all our surfaces with a hospital grade disinfectant, and ensuring that our students and staff are frequently washing and sanitizing their hands. We will take additional measures to sanitize common surfaces (table tops, bars, door handles, drinking water dispensing area, and bathroom counters) on a regular basis. We believe that it is important to stay vigilant and do what we can to provide the best environment at our training centres.
25. What health and safety guidelines are given to your staff?
We're actively monitoring staff health and asking staff to communicate what work they're comfortable engaging in. To minimise our chances of catching or spreading the coronavirus, these are the health and safety guidelines that we are following:
Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Bin the tissue and wash your hands regularly and thoroughly (for at least 30 seconds) with soap and running waterIf you cough or sneeze in the absence of a tissue, do it into the crook of your elbow, not your handUse an alcohol based hand sanitiser that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not availableAvoid close contact with others if you are experiencing a cough, symptoms of the flu, cold or feverAvoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed handsGerms can live on some surfaces for days. Use anti-bacterial spray or wipes when cleaning, especially on frequently touched areas, such as door handles and kitchen surfacesDon't get too close to people coughing, sneezing or with a fever - they can propel small droplets containing the virus into the air. Ideally, keep at least 2m (6ft) awayUse masks in public spaces
